There is currently in our world a longing for love and companionship. It is everywhere. People will try anything to find some form of companion or happiness. But far too often it ends up in more pain. When we are lonely, when we are broken, there is an answer? That answer is with Immanuel. Matthew 1:23 (NKJV)
Behold the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” Jesus came here to be with us. This is a crucial ingredient to answering what is missing in our lives. In the times of the Old Testament exodus, as the nomadic Jewish people moved through the desert, wandering to find the promised land, they missed out on the true promise that was right their before them. Exodus 25:8 (NKJV) And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. God asked the Israelites to make a sanctuary that He could live among them. Yet they complained and grumbled constantly. Yet here was God, trying to be with His people. In the book of John, Jesus promises us that He would send the comforter, the Holy Spirit to live with us. Could it be that wants to live in us as he once lived among the Israelites? Yet we are missing it. Can we truly feel complete, or filled? Yes. Luke 11:11-13 (NKJV) If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” We can be filled, if we will just ask. Today, and every day may it be your prayer to ask.
