How messed up are we? The media has made everything in life fast. Today we eat fast food, we have fast internet, we have on-demand movies, music, and 2-day shipping is about the longest we are willing to wait for something.

We are a society that is messed up by immediate gratification. Honestly, I even have a hard time watching a youtube video if it's more the 6 minutes long.  We have become so rushed, so impatient that if our abs don't change after a 6-minute workout we are willing to give up.

But consider the great things on this planet. The huge Sequoia trees of Yosemite National park, so big you could drive through them.  Some are 280 feet tall and they didn't get that big or that strong overnight. The oldest is estimated to be 3500 years old.

The great wall of China took 200 years to build. Amazon.com was founded in 1994 before many of us even knew what the internet was. It did not become the largest online retailer overnight.

Yet somehow, we want to lose 20lbs in a month or have a perfect walk with God when we have never been consistent with Him before.

From my experience, you only become good at something when you work hard at it consistently. The only way you will change your life is by working at it consistently.

This is applicable to any area you want: fitness, diet, your work, parenting, paying off debt, or your walk with God. If you want to have an epic walk, start by trying to be consistent. Get up every day a few minutes earlier and spend some time with God.

Schedule things. Make it happen.

1 Corinthians 15:58 ESV
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

Be Steadfast, immovable.

Luke 16:13 ESV
No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

Focus on your goals, be devoted.

Galatians 6:9 ESV
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Your reward will come if you push on.
