Matt Stutzman, knows how to hit his goals. In 2015 he became the world record holder for the farthest accurate shot in archery. He shot an arrow on target from 903 ft away. I can barely hit a target 6o ft away. That is impressive. But what is more impressive is that ... Matt was born with no arms. He says, "I decided that since [my arms] weren’t going to grow back, I was just going to go forward with everything and not let anything get in my way or stop me from my goals.” When asked about his accomplishment he said, “I have a lot of dreams. One of my dreams is to break the world record, and that dream will come true today.” Matt saw his target, took aim. Planned for what was to come. Practiced the mastery of his craft, and hit his target. He broke the record by setting goals and working toward them. Some people have an innate ability to see the future. Not literally, but they can imagine what is going to come, and plan for it. This is called vision. Many leaders will think about their organization's needs and plan for the future. Good leaders seem to know what is coming, and not only do they plan for it but usually, they hit their goals.
To go through life without a vision, a plan or a goal is like wandering through a forest with no idea which way gets you out. You are lost. If you don't aim at a target you will never hit anything. The Bible tells us that Jesus is coming soon. It also says that if we want to have life in Heaven with Him, that we need to plan for the future and choose to follow Him. Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Acts 4:12 "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."
